Emojis have become very important for expressing ourselves on social media, messaging apps, and basically any app that forces us to communicate. And despite this, Samsung did not consider them so important.

For some strange reason, Samsung phones are not compatible with the latest batch of emojis, released in 2021, with Unicode version 14; the company simply never released an update that added them, we don’t know if that was due to an oversight or a conscious decision.
Emojis on Samsung mobiles
At least it looks like someone in the company cares enough about emojis to remedy this problem; In fact, Samsung will not only catch up in terms of emojis, it will also be ahead of the rest.
When your Samsung mobile installs One UI 5.0, the new version of personalization layer based on Android 13, you will receive no less than 138 new emojis which you can use anywhere in the system. There are a lot of them because in reality they are two versions in one.
For starters, Samsung will finally support Unicode 14, which brought 107 new emojis, including those that make a heart with hands, a military salute, or those that show a bitten lip. There are also other more curious ones like a “trol” or a hand pointing directly at us. These emojis have already been implemented in other systems and apps, but not in Samsung and now it’s fixed.
To this we must add that Samsung will support Unicode 15, which includes 31 new emojis. They are less so, but they are still important like a pink heart (finally) or a shaking face. In this way, Samsung will overtake Googlewhich said it would implement Unicode 15 by the end of the year.
So, to make up for this “lost” year in emojis, Samsung will adopt the new ones before anyone else; Of course, there’s no point, because emojis can only be seen if the other person also has the same version of Unicode on their mobile or app, but it’s the intention that counts.
