Samsung’s obsession with the iPhone continues with a new ad criticizing Apple users.
In a new announcement, Samsung once again demonstrates its obsession with Apple and mocks the company for not launching a foldable iPhone. The Korean company is very inclined to criticize Apple and its users in its advertisements, a strategy that I don’t know if it really works, we have already seen it after the launch of the new iPhone 14 and it has happened again.
This time we see a user trying to “jump the fence” that apparently Apple puts users to try to go to the “Samsung side” where there are things like folding smartphones. Those who remain on the side of Apple are trying to convince it to wait for these developments to reach the iPhone.
Samsung returns to the charge against Apple and its users
In most ads of this type, Samsung criticizes not only Apple, but also its users, which are precisely the customers you want to attract to your brand. I don’t think this is a strategy that works very well, someone you criticize may not want your products.
In addition, in most announcements in recent months, Samsung bets on foldable smartphones, although it is a very small market at the moment. Although it has been on the market for 4 years, it does not seem that this type of smartphone has attracted too many users, always offering more problems than real advantages.
You can see the full announcement below:
“Hey, what are you doing up there?” asks a supposed Apple employee. “You can’t sit on the fence.” “But on the Samsung side, they have foldable phones and epic cameras,” the man replies. His speech attracts another “Apple” customer interested in foldable devices, while the fake Apple employee tries to talk him out of it. “We are waiting for all that to come here,” explains the employee. “Why? It’s already there,” responds the potential Samsung customer. “Because that’s what we do. We hope,” says the fake Apple employee.
Apple is not at all convinced that foldable smartphones will succeed and it is still waiting for this technology to improve to offer something of quality, if it ever does. Some are hinting that we could see a foldable device from Apple in 2024, but it looks like it won’t be an iPhone.
Let’s hope analysts expect Samsung sells 9 million foldable smartphones this year, but in 2021 it sold over 270 million smartphones, and in 2022 it is on track for similar results. Therefore, the share of foldable smartphones is really low, and probably not a reason to buy for most iPhone users.
