If you are looking for a charger with which be able to charge all your devices, including your MacBook Prowe show you the best option on the market in terms of size, price and features.
Satechi offers us a charger with a very conventional appearance, of the “brick” type, but with characteristics that few on the market can match. With the huge advantage of only needing one plug and having a long cord that allows you to place it away from the outlet, on top of your desk, for example. It is entirely made of plastic on the outside, although it has a metallic finish very similar to anodized aluminum, which characterizes Satechi very much.
The black front part is the one that houses the four charging ports. The charger has a total power of 108W distributed differently by each port. The top USB-C has a maximum output of 90W, while the colt USB-C just below reaches up to 18W at most. To avoid confusion, it is perfectly indicated in each of the ports, as well as its compatibility with Power Delivery.
These maximum powers do not mean that they always charge like that, since the charger will regulate the power of each port according to the needs of the device being connected. If we plug an iPad Pro into the first USB-C, it will charge it at the maximum power supported by the iPad Pro, 20W, we don’t have to worry about it damaging it using the 90W of power of the charger. What happens if we connect the MacBook Pro 16″ M1? It’s currently Apple’s most powerful laptop and it comes with a 140W charger in the box. I used the Satechi charger to charge it and I didn’t have the slightest problem, although it is true that the charge is slower than with the official charger.
Just below we have two classic USB-A ports, each offering a maximum output of 12W. This means that if we use all four ports (2xUSB-C and 2xUSB-A), the output power of the USB-C ports will be somewhat reduced. These two bottom ports are ideal for recharging slower charging devices, like the Apple Watch or the AirPods, although they can perfectly be used for the iPhone or even the iPad. Getting a single charger for your laptop, iPad, iPhone, and other accessories is complicated by power differences between devices, and this Satechi 108W Pro USB-C PD achieves that at a very reasonable price. One outlet and you can charge up to four devices simultaneously with charging powers that reach up to 90W but are adapted to the needs of each device. Its price is also very interesting, especially when compared with official chargers, and always with the guarantee offered by a brand like Satechi. Its price is 89.99$ on Amazon (link)
