A sure sign of the arrival of new Apple devices is the lack of stock in the Apple Store.
We’re just a week away from Apple’s biggest event of the year, where the company will unveil the iPhone 16 and other new devices, and it’s something that is already being noticed in the Apple Store. As Mark Gurman rightly pointed out, several products are out of stock in Apple stores.
This is quite common, since Several Apple products will stop being sold immediately after the arrival of the iPhone 16. These are therefore devices that only have one week left on sale.
In the weeks leading up to an Apple launch event, inventory levels at the company’s stores typically serve as an indicator of new product arrivals. When certain items are out of stock, it’s usually a sign that they need to be updated or phased out.
These Apple products are sold in physical stores

- FineWoven Cases and Bracelets: One of Apple’s most controversial products, this leather replaced leather in iPhone cases and bands for the Apple Watch, but its poor durability seems to be prompting Apple to phase it out altogether.
- Low stock on many iPhone models: It appears that several iPhone models are in very low stock, including the iPhone SE, even though the iPhone SE 4 isn’t expected to be released until next year. This is normal given that the iPhone 13, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, will be discontinued.
- Apple Watch: Apple might be revamping its entire Apple Watch lineup, including the SE, so all of them will soon stop being sold.
- AirPods: Apple is expected to launch the fourth-generation AirPods, which will reportedly come in two different versions. This will likely make the AirPods 2 or AirPods 3 unavailable.
- iPad mini: Gurman says that there is also little stock of this iPad model, indicating that there is a planned refresh for this model that could come later.
