Microsoft has a new Android application for the educational and professional environment: Microsoft Whiteboard. The application serves as a complement to video conference presentations and also to online courses: each participant connected to Whiteboard you can draw and write so others know what you want to raise in the group.
The rise of videoconferencing is sure to change the way people work and study, at least for a good part of the population. Our house turned out to be an excellent multidisciplinary environment, although still using certain devices: computer, tablet or mobile, for example. Software is also important, companies like Microsoft know well. Teams is one of the gems of the software. And Microsoft continues to complement its services, now with a collaborative whiteboard.
A kind of Pictionary to communicate ideas in meetings
There is one element that is not usually missing in a classroom or meeting room: the blackboard. Whether it’s classic chalk or the most modern markers, a blackboard makes complete the explanation so that all viewers understand what it means graphically. And that is exactly what is missing in a video conference; hence the Microsoft Whiteboard application, now independent and in the form of an Android application (it was already on iOS).
The first downside to the app is that it is currently in beta. The second is that it is only suitable for professional and educational accounts: Microsoft Whiteboard is not available for individual business accounts. Beyond that, there are no more obstacles than the simplicity of the software display.
Microsoft Whiteboard is an onscreen virtual whiteboard open to those who want to log in. The application allows you to share access to other contacts: once shared, and as long as everyone is using the whiteboard, the screen will show what each person is drawing. Also what you write there are no more options.
Colored markers (four), an eraser to delete your own lines, a tool for writing with the keyboard and a note that can be placed on the board as a Post-It (with customizable background color). He doesn’t have any more. No less.
The quality of Microsoft Whiteboard is to offer a virtual writing and drawing support to those attending a meeting or a course. The presenter can draw on the board so that the others can see what they want to say; always with the possibility of asking another participant to retouch the drawing in order to collaborate with the speaker. In addition, the whiteboard allows you to zoom in with the pinch gesture on the screen. Yes has a changelog.
Microsoft Whiteboard is now available on the Google Play Store. It’s a free app, but it can only be used by someone with a Microsoft work or school account. Shared links to collaborate on the whiteboard yes they are suitable for personal accounts.
