When iOS 7 arrived, Jony Ive found the batteries and surprised the world with a wrong user interface minimalist. It was a totally different reference to the one that exemplified the scheuomorphism, with clean features, beautiful texts and buttons with a very clean aesthetic.
But the fact is that there is a middle ground for extremism (scheuomorphism and minimalism). We're talking about neumorphism (not to be confused with neomorphism), a style that distinguishes between ornate and apartment.

In opposition to scheuomorphism, which promotes worldly things up to unreasonable attainment, neumorphism adds an element of the future to the current paradigm of user interface design. It incorporates effects of light, shadows and incorporates texture and depth of flat material. The colors are chosen with great care, with soft yet colorful tones, to provide a vibrant and beautiful vibration.

We don't know if Apple will finally decide to completely update the user interface design of its two versions of the iPhone (iOS 14) and iPad (IPOS 14) app. It looks complicated, because software developers and engineers have enough to install dozens and dozens of new features. In addition, they often re-create other objects.
The apple-bred company is excited about the current design style on iOS and iPadOS, so those fans of neumorphism will have to wait a bit. But we are confident that they will soon start offering major changes to the visual interface of their software.

Personally I have to add that, even though neumorphism looks great, to me minimalism is the way to go. Of course it is necessary to update the build of some iOS and iPadOS features you are perfect and you adjust your beauty, but that little style of making everything look clear, clean and organized. Therefore, it is a style that helps users better understand and manage their devices.
