It’s unusual, but in some circumstances we may notice that the buttons on our Siri Remote, the remote we use for our Apple TV, respond slowly or don’t seem to work at all. A situation which, fortunately, we can repair very, very easily.
Restarting the Siri Remote only takes a few seconds
Unlike the option where we reset the entire Apple TV, reset the Siri Remote it’s only a matter of a few seconds and we will exclude that this is where any error comes from. The steps for this are very simple:
- We hold down the TV button and the volume down button for five seconds or until the status light on our Apple TV goes out and comes back on.
- We release the buttons and wait about 10 seconds until our Apple TV tells us “Connection lost” with the Siri remote.
- We wait for the reboot until we see that the Apple TV shows “Connected”.
From there we can use our Siri remote normally. As we already said, if this does not solve the error, we must already exclude that it comes from the command and turn our attention to the Apple TV. To restart it, we just have to hold down the TV button and the back button (<), until the light on our Apple TV flashes.
It is true that it is really strange that the control of our Apple TV fails. Fortunately, without losing sight of the possibility that the hardware is damaged, we can repair it very easily. Enough with press a few buttons and continue with the movie (literally).
