Do you like the aesthetics of the iPhone in the menu of the last apps opened more than that offered by Google as a generic on Android? Well, the Samsung Galaxy lets you customize this menu with the look of iOS: all officially and with Samsung’s own apps. You can even customize it with other styles as you like.
Google has adopted the vertical card interface for its recently opened apps menu, but it’s not as comfortable as it should be since thumbnails take up too much screen space; making moving between all background apps tedious. Apple has solved this problem very well. And Samsung allows you to change the menu to adopt the efficient look of stacking cards: Good Lock allows it.
A much more efficient menu of the latest apps
In Android, there is a generic way to show the last opened apps: as a vertical thumbnail of the screen that takes up almost all the available space. In addition, there are brands that offer their own look, often very different; as is the case with Xiaomi and its square miniatures distributed in two rows. In my opinion, the card stack is the most practical way to combine comfort and aesthetics, I think the iPhone solved the main multitasking screen better.
Samsung offers an application of applications allowing you to personalize your phones to the extreme: Good Lock. It is one of my favorites of all Androids, both for the enormous possibilities and for the quality of its implementation in the layer, One UI. As a new Samsung Galaxy lands in my hands to be scanned, Good Lock is still one of the last apps I install. And with it falls Home Up.
Good Lock builds its extreme customization on different modules which are updated and installed separately. Each module focuses on a specific aspect of the phone. And the one I use the most is Home Up, an app that does everything from modifying desktops to the star trick of this article: playing cards in the last menu you opened.
Let’s see how to completely change the multitasking menu on most Samsung Galaxy:
- Download Good Lock from the Galaxy Store. The launcher is responsible for managing all the modules.
- Open Good Lock, press Home Up and download it from Samsung store.
- Access the Home app from Good Lock and scroll down to “Task Changer”.
- Look at the top selectors and check “Stack”. You already have the active card stack.
- You can customize the last options screen by checking or unchecking the Home Up settings. Based on my usage, I only activate “Center the running application” (so that the stack centers the application you were using in the foreground) and “Switch to previous app with gestures” (to switch between applications by sliding your finger along the bottom of the screen; basic in multitasking).
Home Up has many more options for the One UI interface. From changing office cells to fully customize the share menu. Don’t forget to try all of these functions, or the rest of the Good Lock modules: they are a great little marvel. Undoubtedly one of Samsung’s greatest successes in Android customization.
