Big, folding, problems, solves

Folding technology is advancing by leaps and bounds. Since the first foldable devices Samsung launched on the market, the original Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold, things have changed a lot. Other manufacturers have already taken the plunge and are launching products on the market, some with considerable impact among the general public. The progress of this technology is quite obvioussomething that is clear with each new model that arrives in stores.

One of the major handicaps of this type of device lies in its screens, particularly in their folding. The most modern folding systems have a much more discreet “wrinkle”, although it is visible depending on the situation or angle. Samsung is well aware of this and, indeed, it seems that with its new foldable managed to almost completely eliminate the problem.

The evolution of the Galaxy Z Fold SE opens a promising path

Last summer, the South Korean firm launched a new batch of foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Galaxy Z Fold6. Both feature significant improvements, both in terms of functionality and design, such as the arrival of the vapor chamber on the Flip model. However, Samsung had a joker up its sleeve: the Galaxy Z Fold special edition.

The Galaxy S25 has fewer and fewer secrets: its complete design has leaked and that's good news

This foldable is, in essence, an improved version of the Fold6. It has the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and battery, but that doesn’t mean it’s without significant new features. Its thickness is only 4.9 millimeters when openedbeing Samsung’s thinnest foldable to date. Plus, it has a better camera and weighs three grams less.

Although these are the most obvious novelties of this foldable, the reality is that it hides a very interesting change. As shown by the famous Ice Universe on his X account, this special edition managed to virtually eliminate the “wrinkle” of the interior screen. The phone that appears in the video is called W25, which is the Chinese variant of this foldable.

Although it is a simple video, the truth is that this “wrinkle” cannot be seen from any angle. Of course, this will be visible if we see the device with the screen off or backlit. However, it is clear that it is the company which the best treatment was given on screen to deal with this annoying feature.

The only “but” that can be put at this stage is that, for the moment, It is not expected that the special edition of the Galaxy Z Fold will reach our territory. It’s not all bad news, though: this development paves the way for the company’s upcoming foldables, including the very likely affordable Galaxy Z Flip.
