Sony is the first major to introduce its new range with this unique MWC design. We also had an impromptu exit, for the Sony Xperia 1 destination Sony Xperia 1 II, a refresh that keeps regular lines with more power, more memory, better cameras and 5G connectivity.
The Sony Xperia 1 II sharers a great pre-emptive look, and it features a 6.5-inch OLED screen and a 21: 9 aspect ratio, though almost everything has been upgraded. Oh, and the minijack is back.

The screen is equally large, soft
The fact that the Sony Xperia 1 II retains the last name gives us an idea of what it is more natural evolution than change. In fact, placing the two wires close to each other, it can be difficult to separate them from the front. Another option would be to look back, where it is easier to distinguish the changes because the cameras move sideways instead of being concentrated internally.
The Sony Xperia 1 II screen starts with the same features as its predecessor, keeping the visual fruition of the 21: 9 aspect ratio for frames, reduced, but still. Screen 6.5 inch OLED, with 4K adjustment and HDR.
The biggest change is its smoothness. Tony gets into the "soft screen" car with what Tony calls Motion Blur Reduction Technology, equivalent, they say, to 90 Hz soda.
The ToF sensor arrives
In the background, the Sony Xperia 1 II differs greatly from its predecessor. For starters, the camera module is no longer focused and goes left. Still three 12 MP lenses, now with a TOF sensor. This ToF sensor comes with its own name: Sony calls ToF 3D.
For this generation, Tony repeats the triple suspension even though the focus points change, up to 70 millimeters. This is Good 3x zoom on the Xperia 1 II, compared to the previous 2x zoom. The terminal comes with several camera upgrades, faster focusing speeds and better performance in low light conditions.
Forward, without change. Selfies with 8 megapixel front camera with aperture of f / 2.0. There is no notch, way of turning back or digging that doesn't matter: the camera is at its best.
More power with 5G
We will not go through the redesign without involving a more powerful processor, and that is exactly what we have on the Sony Xperia 1 II. Snapdragon 855 we go to Snapdragon 865, compatible with Snapdragon X55 5G delivery and communication of 5G sub-6.
There is more energy, and more memory. RAM reaches 8 GB and storage goes up to 256 GB. As usual with a 5G mobile phone, the battery increased to 4,000 mAh, for fast 21W charging and the addition of wireless charging.
We do a good job of designing the Japanese, because the Sony Xperia 1 II is slightly smaller than the previous one (166 x 72 x 7.9 mm compared to 167 x 72 x 8.2 mm), though it does grow the battery and find a hole to insert the headphone jack to achieve stereo speakers.
Prices and prices for the Sony Xperia 1 II
Tony's new ending will be officially sold out late spring 2020 in Europe, or yet we don't know its price. What we do know is that it will be available in black and purple colors, in addition to the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
