Today I want to tell you a story. The story of a nickname. Perhaps the most important of recent years: Satoshi Nakamoto. For those who don’t know who it is, just search for “Bitcoin” on the internet. In effect, is the creator of the most widely used cryptocurrency in the world.
To this day, it remains a mystery who this Satoshi guy is. All that is known is that he did not want to reveal his true identity, and on January 9, 2009, he released version 0.1 of Bitcoin on SourceForge. That day, the world changed and even today it is still unclear who was really responsible
An unlikely, but curious theory
Here’s the fun thing about it all. Andy Baio recently posted that he discovered by accident that all Macs have, as standard but hidden, what is called “The Bitcoin Whitepaper”, which is the original document submitted by Satoshi himself in which he explained how Bitcoin works, what applications it has and how it can be used.
If you’re curious to see it on your Mac, open Finder and navigate to MacintoshHD > System
The question here is obvious, why on earth would Apple include as standard, and mostly hidden, the original copy of this? It could be a joke from a programmer on your team, an oversight, or maybe something much murkier.
Here we go : What if Satoshi Nakamoto was actually Steve Jobs?
Satoshi disappeared from all online forums in April 2011. Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple three months later, and He died in October of the same year.. Which could also explain why not a single euro has moved from your wallet.
Steve Jobs was a visionary, not a programmer, but that doesn’t rule out this theory. Besides, This is not the first time that this possibility has been raised.. Personally, that sounds a little crazy to me, but there’s quite a buzz online about it. For what I repeat, I know not, but, and if so? Will Steve Jobs be the creator of Bitcoin? We’ll probably never know…or will we?
