Steve Jobs was not a figure intended for public appearances. The co-founder of Apple was very reserved about his private life, appearing only in a few anecdotes in which his character appeared in unexpected situations. However, in the cinema it has already been played by several actors, with more or less success depending on the film.
And this went pretty unnoticed, but There’s an interpretation of Steve Jobs where we least expected it. This happened in a series that has already lasted twelve seasons and leaves no Apple enthusiast indifferent.
The BEST Apple keynotes EVER
“Was that Steve Jobs before?”
If you’re a Disney+ subscriber, you can watch it yourself. Occurs in the series ‘American Horror Story’, in the eighth episode of the tenth season. We can’t say too much about the context without revealing spoilersbut we can say that a series of characters find themselves in a laboratory in which we do not age as long as we remain within its walls.
Suddenly, in a common room, we realize that a woman is talking to none other than Steve Jobs, who apparently faked his death to be able to be in this laboratory. Both debate something Jobs always stood for: teaching the user what they will need.
The executive is offended because he saw someone using a pencil, but the woman tells him that people You will simply use what you have on hand and however you see fit.
Then, two other characters ask the woman: “Was that Steve Jobs before?” The answer to this is “yes, he dresses like an ass but he’s very sweet”. The episode is barely a minute long, but it leaves you wondering.
The CEO with the most Hollywood performances
The actor who plays Jobs during this very short appearance is Cordoba only, who also appeared in series such as “Lost,” “Modern Family,” and “Dexter.” He thus joins the rest of the actors who have played the CEO of Apple:
- Noah Whyle playing him in “Pirates of Silicon Valley”, in 1999.
- Just a long timeperforming it in ‘iSteve’, in 2013.
- Ashton Kutcherplaying him in ‘Jobs’, in 2013.
- Michael Fassbenderplaying him in “Steve Jobs” in 2015.
We don’t know if we’re going to see more actors playing the co-founder of Apple, but this little tribute certainly shows us that the character is still very present as an icon in the world of cinema and series. It is perhaps now Apple TV+’s turn to pay it a careful tribute, well designed as it deserves.
