When Steve Jobs believed in an idea, he looked for the best people to make it happen!
Many anecdotes from Steve Jobs’ life have served to illustrate his astute behavior within the business world. Despite his genius, Jobs was not afraid to recognize when an executive at his level had a better grasp of a specific subject than he did.and instead took advantage of this experience to promote his projects.
In 2001, as he prepared to open his first Apple Store in Virginia, Apple founder sought advice from Louis Vuitton CEO Bernard Arnaultwho he trusted to translate the experience he had imagined in his mind into the real world.
The luxury Apple Store experience is no coincidence
According to a Fortune publication, Jobs asked Arnault for advice on “opening Apple Stores in the same areas as the main Louis Vuitton outlets.”
Arnault agreed to provide him with the information and thus lay the foundations for the experiences offered since then in the company’s stores.. Those who visit and open each branch represent a very important event for the company and its followers.
Before the first Apple Store opened, few people trusted Jobs’ idea. In a 2016 interview, Arnault said: “I must say that I myself had some doubts about the sale of iPods in stores”but he still gave Jobs some advice, which evolved into the Apple Store experience we know and love.
Before opening the first physical store, The best Macs and other Apple products were only sold at retailers like Sears. Long before that, they were already sold through the Apple Online Store officially opened on November 10, 1997, an alternative that was also considered another “absurd idea” of Jobs.
After more than two decades The essence of the Apple Store remains intact, To be a space that, beyond the sale of devices, also offers experiences perceived from the facade to each interior place, carefully thought out.
Currently There are more than 500 Apple Stores worldwide.. The last store opening was a month ago, with the spectacular Apple Store Jing’an headquarters in Shanghai, attended by Apple CEO Tim Cook himself.
If you didn’t know this story and thought that the similarity between any Apple Store and the most luxurious stores on the planet, like Louis Vuitton or Hermès, was just a simple coincidence, you have only confirmed that At Apple, even the smallest detail has a reason for being.
