Telegram unveils what has long been heard in the form of rumours: a service prime for users who want to enjoy more benefits of this messaging app. And there are quite a few benefits to the way we’ve used it so far, but there’s also controversy.
Telegram Premium is even in the price, just to have an iPhone
Telegram Premium offers you the following improvements over the service’s free plan:
- You can join a maximum of 1,000 groups instead of 500
- You can pin 10 chats instead of 5 and have 20 folders instead of 10. Each folder can have 10 chats instead of 5
- You can use up to 10 public t.me links instead of 5
- You can save 400 GIFs instead of 200
- You can have 200 favorite stickers instead of 5
- You can have up to 140 characters in your profile bio instead of 70, plus a verified Twitter-style symbol that identifies you as a Premium user. Profile pictures can be animated even when previewing them.
- There are exclusive reactions for posts
- Improved chat management for moderators and administrators
- The advertising of certain channels disappears.
- You can include descriptions in your photos up to 4,096 characters, not 1,024
- The bone robots they can include images, videos, and text descriptions to better indicate their purpose.
- You can Automatically transcribe audio messages let them come to you
- The application can manage 4 different accounts instead of 3
- You can send files up to 4GB not 2GB
You can activate Telegram Premium from the app’s own settings after updating it to its latest version. Its price is 5.49 dollars, but beware: there are cheaper prices if you activate the subscription outside the app store. This is not something that has been officially confirmed, but Telegram has not hesitated to prefer that it is the user who absorbs the 30% commission that Apple maintains on these subscriptions.
You can subscribe to Telegram Premium for 3.99 dollars per month if we do it from an Android device or by opening the PremiumBot bot from the web version of the service, which will allow us to activate the subscription at this lower price and avoid paying the App Store commission indirectly. At the moment the process is giving an error, but it should work fine soon and from Xataka we got some screenshots that demonstrate the difference:
It remains to confirm that these prices are real and that on Android they are lower because of the App Store commission, but the controversy is already served. iOS users who are interested, logically, we will look for ways to subscribe to Telegram Premium saving us that extra euro and a half per month (18 dollars per year). And I don’t think Apple will be very amused.
