WhatsApp is an application used by more than 2 billion people to communicate. Unfortunately, the fact that it is such a massive and popular platform has also led to more and more WhatsApp scams and accounts dedicated to spam. Those responsible for the app know this and that is why they are constantly implementing new protection measures for users.
WhatsApp recently made it possible to block suspicious messages without having to open the application. From now on, WhatsApp wants to be more proactive: the application works on a system for Automatically suspend accounts that spam
If WhatsApp detects that an account is spamming, it will temporarily block it
This feature was discovered in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android (version 2.24.10.5), and the discovery was published by WaBetaInfo. The new system of spam protection prom ises to prevent spam accounts from continuing to send countless messages to users containing commercial offers or suspicious messages.
In the images shared by WaBetaInfo we can see the message that will appear on accounts suspended for spam: “Your account is restricted. Recent activity on your account may indicate spam or mass automated messages.”
By temporarily suspending an account, it you will not be able to start new conversations or chats for a while. However, the owners of these accounts will not be completely cut off: they will be able to continue receiving messages and sending messages in chats and groups in which they have already participated.
WhatsApp automatically detects mass sending of messages, which it could consider as spam, and automatically blocks the account
WhatsApp can detect (by analyzing usage patterns) when an account sends messages in bulk, which the platform might consider spam and, therefore, will automatically suspend the account, although normally only temporarily. As this is not a permanent block, users can correct their actions and avoid making the same mistake that caused the suspension.
This protection measure is still in development and the platform should implement it in the final version of the application during a future update.
