The Apple Car project team has been disbanded for some time. The reorganization in the next three to six months is necessary to achieve the mass production target by 2025.

According to the analyst, the team responsible for the Apple car has been “disbanded” for a while and it’s going to be revamped over the next three or six months. The target would still be 2025 as the start date for mass production (Bloomberg is also betting on that year), although it remains to be seen whether Apple can get there in time after an apparent pause.
This parenthesis may have been caused by the pandemic: it is not easy to design and produce an electric car, even less if you have to work from home. It may also have been concentration of efforts on other productslike the Mac Studio we saw recently launched.
The most recent reliable data we have on the “Apple Car” are changes in the direction of the project, which is now in charge of Kevin Lynch. Beyond that, we have patents, rumors and hints from some vendors. It’s still this project that we’re going to take time to see, but there is no doubt that it is something tangible and not that mystery we had a few years ago.
