Apple has done it again
Apple recently launched new MacBook Pro models with enormously powerful M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max chips and early Geekbench tests now show that the new Apple Silicon processors are second to none. The M4 Max chip, which is the most advanced version of the M4 chips, is the most powerful processor on the market.
Somehow, Apple has managed to compete in the computer industry by competing against the best hardware. The M4 Max chip is even superior to processors like the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X or the popular Intel Core i9-14900K.
The tests of Geek bench 6 reveal that the M4 Max chip is one of the highest performing hardware components in the computing industry. Very promising results which make the MacBook Pro the most powerful Mac in history in addition to being the Mac computers with the most battery in the Apple catalog.
Data on the most powerful processor in Apple history
The M4 Max chip is equipped with a 16-core processor that includes 12 high-performance cores and 4 energy-efficient cores.
According to Apple, the M4 Max chip is 20% faster than M3 Max chip which, in turn, was already 15% more powerful than the M2 chips and featured Dynamic Caching, a technology designed so that the processor uses the necessary amount of memory to perform each task. Something that can be seen in this comparison between the MacBook Pro M3 and the MacBook Pro M4 that we shared a few days ago.
The M4 Max chip turns out to be one of the fastest processors on the market, if not the fastest. And that Apple has not yet introduced an M4 Ultra chipwhich could debut with the arrival of the new generation of Mac Studio and Mac Pro, which will arrive with other devices in 2025.
The results of the first Geekbench tests of the M4 Max processor
One of the most favorable results of the MacBook Pro with M4 Max chip achieves a single core score of 4060 and a multi-core score of 26675. This would imply that the M4 Max chip is up to 26% faster than an M3 Max chip.
Comparing the power of the M4 Max chip with the performance of other processors on the market, the M4 Max chip is even faster than the latest versions of the AMD Ryzen 9 and Intel Core i9 chip.
The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X chip has a base score of 3630 and a multiple score of 26653slightly below the M4 Max chip presented by Apple. You can see their results here.
For its part, the Intel Core i9 14900K chip displays an individual score of 3144 and a multi-core score of 23044. The M4 Max chip is therefore 15% faster than Intel’s best bet. And remember that it still remains to be seen if Apple releases a new M4 Ultra chip with even more power, which would be a blow to Apple’s table and a blow to its competitors.
