We recently brought you information on one of the most controversial products launched by the Cupertino company in recent years, it could only be the expensive and extravagant Apple Studio Display, a 27-inch screen that starts at 1 800 dollars and does It seems up to par in many ways.

To the list of curiosities mentioned above is added the fact that it was discovered that the Apple Studio Display has 64 GB of totally useless storage, since it is not available to the user, why would Apple have made this strange gesture with the memory of the Apple Studio Display?

As you well know, the Apple Studio Display actually runs iOS 15.4, or at least a variant for use on this display as is the case with Apple TV and HomePod. However, a developer found information in the screen code that seems to indicate that the screen has a 64 GB NAND memory chip, and perhaps the most surprising thing is precisely that it only takes up 2 GB of all that available memory.

It’s clear that Prevention is better than cure in these cases, and greater memory will allow Apple to add software enhancements with greater depth, however, this is surprising given the storage policy that Apple has always maintained. Not so long ago entry iPhone started from 32GB (half of that screen) and even the MacBook Pro only offered 128GB of SSD storage for the “cheapest” model.

Interesting considering thata Studio Display currently offers more power than the Apple TV 4K, which is designed to consume content. Not only does it have a more powerful processor (A12 vs A13 Bionic), but in this case it offers double the internal memory.
