Despite initial skepticism of the evidence show the Apple Watch's help in diagnosing heart disease, and in the case we tell you today, you could have avoided heart disease and possibly saved a life.
The case was published in the European Heart Journal of the European Society of Cardiology, and tells us that an 80-year-old woman he was diagnosed with angina pectoris and was being treated for the condition because of his Apple Watch, thus avoiding potentially serious complications such as myocardial infarction and possibly death due to this cause. How has the Apple Watch achieved this identification? I thank ECG for this young woman who works from home and teaches the doctors who visit her in the ER.
At the ER they found nothing unusual
An 80-year-old German woman had a significant history of heart disease, such as hypertension, atrape fibrillation, and pulmonary thromboembolism. The patient went to the emergency department for symptoms of chest pain, dizziness and palpitations (extrasystoles). In the emergency room, they used a complete electrocardiogram (12 shrubs), which was common then.. Troponin analysis studies, a marker that increases with myocardial infiltration, were also normal.
However, the patient showed doctors the ECGs performed at home while he or she had these symptoms due to his Apple Watch, and in them the doctors found the most significant symptom of angina: the occurrence of ST. As a result of this study by Apple Watch, women are quickly getting cheated.
How can that be?
How did you not get angina in the hospital? Angina pectoris occurs when one of the coronary artery arteries and does not allow enough blood to pass through the heart. Whether or not there is a heart attack depends on your age. If there is damage, ECG and Troponin are also found in the blood, but if there is no damage due to the short duration, it can be seen in both tests. This is why in Apple Watch ECG appears (patient has symptoms) and in hospital ECG is absent (difficulty is already reduced).
The Apple Watch ECG is very limited by one lead (the medical ECG has 12 indicators), in fact Apple makes it very clear that it is "not a useful tool for detecting myocardial infarctions", because it cannot detect any possible heart attack, but in this case it has received and has been a great help. Having ECG regularly found on your wrist allows you to use it for any of the symptoms, which is a very important heart disease, as most go away and disappear when you get to the hospital.
