MIUI 13 is the new version of Xiaomi’s personalization layer, and other mobiles from the Chinese company are finally arriving, which can already take advantage of its novelties.

It’s a version coming running on Android 12 or Android 11 and which incorporates very interesting aesthetic changes that bring it closer to Material You, Google’s new design language.

We have already tested MIUI 13 For Pad on the Xiaomi Pad 5, and now we have done the same with the smartphone version, which, despite some novelties, represents a very slight renewal of the layer.

Some system applications, as well as the Settings interface, have a look that retains the aesthetics of MIUI 12, but it’s close to Android 12 and its Material You,

In Settings, some icons have changed, while new entries have been created to properly organize this section. This is the case of security and emergency, although it must be taken into account that new configurations have appeared in other sections.

The launcher remains the same, being able to configure the size and shape of the icons, in addition to being able to apply an icon pack that you download from the application store, at least in the version of MIUI for POCO.

New widgets for gallery and other apps have also been added, but adapted to those design lines we mentioned earlier, with different types.

Other functions that already exist in the customization layer have received operational improvements, such as the always-on screen that has new models

What’s New in Features

The Sidebar, a feature that until now had not reached all Xiaomi mobile users and which allows you to display a floating bar with app shortcuts that you choose yourself is also available. A true Swiss army knife in terms of productivity.

On the other hand, the Chinese company has also seen fit to introduce more features or reform others that were already as a security and emergency section

Es cierto que en materia de rendimiento, en nuestro caso en concreto, hemos notado mejoría y corrección de ciertos errores en el funcionamiento respecto a MIUI 12.5, lo cual es de agradecer. Aunque, en estas primeras versiones también es normal encontrar algún pequeño error, como ha sido el caso.

MIUI 13 también cuenta con las novedades que han llegado a Android 12 en caso de que tu móvil se actualice con esta versión, y quizá la más evidente sea el aviso de uso de la cámara o del micrófono mediante un punto de color en la barra de notificaciones, algo que puede venirte bien para saber si alguna app está accediendo a estos elementos sin que lo sepas.
