The best podcast app releases themes and new features

A few weeks ago the developers of what for me the best podcast app available on Android, PocketCasts, decided to change their business model, making the app free and running a monthly subscription plan.

They have now released one of the most important updates since that day, and they've developed three features for the app, all available to paid users and those who don't, recommended.

New category for following audios

One of the new features of this update is the large number of options we will have in the Up Next section, which includes the audios we will hear later. Now this section has its own page and we can select several episodes at once, doing things together, and we don't have to go it alone.

There, we can have them downloaded, removed or marked as read.

New play screen

Another area with rising faces is the podcast playground, which now allows us to quickly navigate to episode notes or chapters, once podcasters have created them within the audio.

We can also change the action at the bottom of this screen, so we can access the actions we use most. To do this you have to click the three point icon in the bottom right and submit the desired action at the top.

New theme free

The latest news is the blue indigo theme that allows us to customize the look without having to change the light mode to darker colors. The colors are designed to reduce the eyestrain, but this doesn't seem to be a problem because this app is designed for listening, not reading.

Note that this article is free as there are a few of the apps available only to paid Pocketcast Plus users.

This kind of movement makes PocketCasts an excellent podcast app for many fans of this type of content.
