While the Apple Pencil it’s a really durable deviceIt is true that, in certain circumstances, we may need to replace it with a new one. We are not talking about when it is convenient for us to change the tip to continue enjoying maximum precision, we are talking about when we should buy a new Apple Pencil directly. What do we do with the old?
That’s the question a Reddit user asked a few days ago. The answer is clearly curious: turn Apple Pencil into a pen. A small invention, very easy to make, which will give new life to our pencil and, without a doubt, will attract the attention of whoever sees us using it.
Apple Pencil and Apple Pen
The process itself is very simple. Once we verify that the Apple Pencil really isn’t working and can’t be fixed, all we have to do is unscrew the tip and remove the internal components through the tip opening. The process requires a bit of precision, but with needle-nose pliers or a similar tool, it’s relatively easy.
Once we’ve removed the battery and the rest of the components from the Apple Pencil, all we have to do is get a refill like BIC pens, which can be found on the internet. Not all of them will fit, but it will be quite easy that we can, just by pressing, achieve a satisfactory result.
And with that, we will get something very similar to the image that revenue user 69tt posted a few days ago. A pen with the body and feel of the Apple Pencil. Not with its weight, yes, since the battery is the main responsible for the weight of the pencil.
Undoubtedly a most curious mini-project when it comes to giving new life to an old Apple Pencil. A resource, yes, which only works with the second generation Apple Pencil which benefits from the possibility of being disassembled with relative ease.
Uses of this invention? If we are careful not to remove the magnets inside the body of the pencil, we can fix it on the fridge and use it for notes on the shopping list, for example. Beyond that, it’s little more than a curiosity, but interesting.
