Apple prepared everything yesterday with the system updates and today takes the final step with the official launch of AirPods Max. The company’s new top-of-the-line headphones are now officially on sale, and all of you who were quick with early reservations should start receiving your units at home today.
The first units reach users
Some of the first lucky ones are already sharing the arrival of their AirPods Max on social networks. Thus, we have users from Asia and Europe among the first to receive their new headphones:
It’s good enough in all aspects, but it just doesn’t make people feel as good as it is worth ¥ 4,399.
In addition, a big head + glasses, no chuck, is quite comfortable.#AirPodsMax pic.twitter.com/jdM9RfaXpC

This Chinese user has already received theirs. A good number of units have also arrived to users in Europe:

Although the initial stock was very scarce, some users receive their orders early. Of course, the inventory situation is still very limited.
No sending until 2021
If you decide to buy the AirPods Max while reading these lines, you will have to be patient: all the colors of the headphones not shipped for 12-14 weeks on the Apple site (more than three months!) and the collection options in an Apple Store are disabled. The demand must have been much higher than Apple expected. Amazon is also out of stock with the exception of the pink model, indicating deliveries between January 13 and February 14.
Personally, and even more so now in times of a pandemic, I recommend waiting for more inventory and purchasing online. If we are on the streets we can still try to buy it in situ at an authorized dealeras they usually receive units upon launch. But let’s not be overly optimistic about this, as it appears Apple has made too few units or demand has been exaggerated everywhere.
