Next May 10 will be a big day for any fan of all things Google. This will be the day when Google I/O kicks off, a gigantic event that, although in theory intended for developers, is actually followed by consumers to hear about the company’s news before anyone else.

In Google’s words, the four most important sections of Google I/O are: Mobile, web, artificial intelligence and cloud. All sessions and news will focus on these four areas, starting with the Keynote, the opening presentation which will serve as a summary and overview of what will be presented in each session and which will be the part that will really interest most world. The Keynote will start at 7:00 p.m. Spanish time and will explain how Google intends to continue its “mission to organize the world’s information and make it accessible and useful”.

The new Android 14 will be showcased at Google I/O, and many sessions focus on explaining what’s new it will bring. There will be a session devoted exclusively to Android 14 news, but also others to specific parts of the system, such as the Material Design interface, accessibility, Google Pay and Google Walley, Google Play, and more. Again. Developer workshops will explain how to create applications that take advantage of these new features; there will be several workshops dedicated to the development of applications for large screens and the use of available space. Android Auto will also have its own session, with new features for creating applications suitable for use on car screens.

As expected, the Artificial intelligence it will take a lot of weight at Google I/O compared to previous editions, becoming one of the four centerpieces of the event. Specifically, Google will generative AI news, and has already announced that it will launch tools to take advantage of it. The workshops will also cover how to build apps that use machine learning, so Android 14 will likely offer access to this technology.

The other two sections need no introduction. The web is still important to Google, which will introduce new features in ChromeOS and in the web browser; one session will focus on gaming and it looks like Chrome will play a part in that. Finally, the Google cloud will grow in importance, providing access to generative AI and new features for both developers and end users.
