After Google suffered from the triumph of Open AI and its ChatGPT, with language models that it could not compete with until the arrival of Gemini, the company that practically invented AI must update all its products. Writing emails in Gmail, site recommendations in Google Maps, personal assistant on Android with Gemini’s generative AI… The bet is total.
As Google pointed out in a blog post, Google Play is taking a step forward in terms of artificial intelligence to make the app download experience faster, more efficient, complete and informative. Let us welcome the following news:
- Smart DiscoveryGoogle is integrating AI into almost every aspect of the store to make it easier to compare apps, adding AI-generated descriptions and frequently asked questions (FAQs) to make it easier for us to know what to download.
- New search filters for games. It will be much easier to find new titles based on your interests, since we will be able to apply very specific filters.
- Google Play Pass goes up a level. The subscription service adds more special offers and discounts to provide more value to subscribers. Currently, Google Play Pass provides access to over 1,000 games and apps without ads or in-app purchases.
- Custom collections. Google Play introduces a new feature called “Collections” that automatically organizes related content from apps on our home screen.
- Google Play points will be used to purchase new prizes. As specific activities or events in games, also Google Pixel and Razer devices.
- Google Play Games on PC will let you play multiple games at the same time.
- New privacy controls to adjust preferences for how Google Play uses data.
Some of these new features start being active today, the rest will gradually arrive on the Google Play Store. The idea is that we spend less time searching and more time finding similar apps to download on our Android.
