The next price increase for the iPhone may not come from Apple, but from the Spanish government. In our country, for almost six years, we have been paying a controversial tax called digital cannon by which the administration wants to remunerate the downloads or unofficial views of content to the managers.
The tax is a few dollars, but it has been criticized for some time because it assumes that everyone downloads content through unauthorized channels and we pay some kind of fine for it. good now The government plans to increase this tax to triple it in some cases. And it will be noticeable in the price of the iPhone.

In the specific case of the iPhone, the Cano Digital costs 1.10 dollars excluding tax. A total of 1.33 dollars. With the changes proposed by the Spanish government, the tax now costs 3.25 dollars, which with VAT it’s almost 4 dollars. The law specifies that this price can be borne by the manufacturers, but they always end up inflating the price of their products so that the end user is the one who bears the cost.
It happened in 2017 and it will probably happen again. In the 1,319 dollars that the iPhone 14 Pro costs, the Canon Digital is already included, but if it increases, we could see how this iPhone rises to around 1,323 dollars. One last detail about this tax: Apple includes it in the official purchase price of its products, as you can see in the screenshot above. Therefore, any store that wants to charge you separately without cutting it before the price of the iPhone is doing it wrong (you end up paying the tax twice).
