Gboard, the Google keyboard, is the most popular because it is pre-installed, the Samsung keyboard also scores points for this reason on the mobile phones of this company. SwiftKey has earned its podium presence, as have others like Chrooma. And there is lesser-known keyboards that really surprise you when you try them. Florisboard is one of them.
Loaded with options and up to the pinnacle of customization
Open source keyboards generally opt for simplicity when expanding their capabilities. This, which is a virtue, tends to be insufficient for someone coming from GBoard or SwiftKey and search for themes with which to customize keys, gesture typing, corrections or customizable dictionaries. The app we are talking about is a marvel of virtual writing, we were surprised by everything it offers (perhaps too much, even if you can deactivate what is not necessary). The main thing is that makes it easy to write any word, either key-by-key or in stroke-based writing (the Spanish dictionary doesn’t work well yet). The look is very refined, themes can be changed (to remove key profiling, for example) and switch from tips to a smart bar with actions.
Another of the most positive aspects of Florisboard is that includes its own clipboard in order to keep complete control over everything that is copied and pasted. It even has a “copy/paste” history, a very useful tool to never lose any of the copied elements.
