In Europe we can boast of having one of the most advanced fiber optic networks on the planet. Despite the many complaints made to telecommunications operators, our country is one of the most advanced in the deployment of wired and wireless networks.
This means that houses are available for very little money. speeds for browsing at 300, 600 and even 1024 Mbps, or 1 Gbps. But just because what we contract supports these maximum speeds doesn’t mean our devices support them. Or our network.
The most normal thing is Connect to the router using a wireless connection, via WiFi. This is true for computers, tablets and mobile phones, as well as for the home automation accessories that we have at home. In the latter case, there is no problem because the necessary bandwidth is not too high, considering the needs of these devices. Even 4K security cameras work well with classic WiFi connections.
The problem comes when you want to squeeze that contracted speed in a device capable of using it, whether to transfer files, make backup copies of the photos we have stored in the cloud, watch streaming content with the highest quality… Televisions usually have Ethernet ports, which allow them to connect by cable to routers, squeezing the speed, but tablets and cell phones do not have this connector, and lately, neither do laptops.
But this does not mean that a mobile phone cannot be connected to the router by cable. The only thing you need is a USB-C to Ethernet adapter like the one on sale at Carrefour for 18.91 dollars. It is an Ethernet adapter with USB type C connector model TPC-H515 from the LinQ brand with a length of 21.5 cm. This connector allows you to use an Ethernet cable, that would have to be purchased separately, to be able to take full advantage of the connection. It is not the only one available and you can also find it in online stores like Amazon, even cheaper. This model costs for example 13.99 dollars and has a slightly more careful design.
You don’t have to configure anythingsince Android phones have standard drivers to be able to use these accessories without touching anda, just as they can print without having to configure any application or do anything. The maximum connection speed is 1 Gbps and they are compatible with 10/100 Mbps networks.
