On Apple website there are hints that iPhone 14 Plus was originally going to be called iPhone 14 Max, at the last minute they decided to change the name.
We knew for many months that Apple was going to change strategy and eliminate the mini model in favor of a larger iPhone. And, since Apple calls these models with the Max family name, we all decided to call it iPhone 14 Max. However, finally Apple decided to call it iPhone 14 Plusand now we know it was a last minute decision.
Dive into the Apple site, the Dutch blog I create discovered some references to the iPhone 14 Max. Which indicates that Apple had decided to call its new big iPhone which offers an alternative to iPhone 14 Por Max, compared to having the same size although different functions and price.

One such reference was on Apple’s support page. In one, the company helps you identify your iPhone model, and if Right click on iPhone 14 Plus image then Save as, you will see the image name is “iPhone-14-Max-colors”. Oddly enough, on other websites it has already been changed, but on the Spanish website the image is still called that, at least as of this writing.
And on the other hand, on a website that provides compliance and regulatory information for the company’s products, Apple clearly names “iPhone 14 Max” with the model number of iPhone 14 Plus, as well as the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14. Pro Max. Even though this error has already been corrected and replaced by the officer.

It even seems that there are other references to the iPhone 14 Max in images on Apple’s website, especially in alternate description sections used by blind people as an image description.
It made just as much sense for Apple to keep its Max nomenclature as it did to change it to differentiate its two 6.7-inch iPhones. We know that the names are taken care of by the company’s marketing team, and this is something that is usually decided in recent weeks before the presentation. And all this confirms these theories.
Since then When Apple website officials started uploading images of the new iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Plus was called iPhone 14 Max., they had not given this name if not to the images downloaded. Now that it’s been discovered, Apple is changing them, although it’s clear that was the name originally.
