If this rumor is true, the iPhone 15 could finally be what we all want.
It is expected that this year with the iPhone 14 lineup, Apple will finally eliminate the notch, or so the leaked iPhone 14 Pro schematics suggest. The screen for the camera and Face ID would, however, only be a previous step for Apple until the arrival of the iPhone 15 Pro. According to a new rumor, Apple plans to hide Face ID and the front camera under the screen next year.
According to sources cited by the Korean site The elect
Samsung Display was currently developing a new under-panel camera technology for its Apple cus tomer to hide Face ID under the screen of the upcoming iPhone.
Currently, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 uses a screen with this technology, which manages to hide the camera under the screen by reducing the pixel density just in this area. However, this currently leads to a considerable reduction in the quality of the front camera. Apple would therefore have decided to use the second version of this technology. In reality, The elect says Samsung plans to apply the technology to its upcoming “Galaxy Z Fold5” first.
We do not know yet if Apple only hides Face ID sensors under the screenleaving a small hole only for the front camera, or if the technology is so good that it allows also hides the camera below the screen without loss of image quality.
No doubt the The double hole in the screen that we will see this year in the iPhone 14 Pro is just one step
Hopefully one more step will be taken in the iPhone 15 Pro, even if it only partially hides the Face ID sensors. We will see what happens in the “non-Pro” modelsthe iPhone 14 will continue to maintain the notch to establish greater differentiation, so perhaps the iPhone 15 will adopt the double hole in the screen of the iPhone 14 Pro.
