Everything seems to indicate that the iPhone 16 will not incorporate a new design and the main novelty will be the arrival of artificial intelligence with iOS 18. However, we have been hearing for some time about two main changes in design. The first refers to the arrival of the action button on all iPhone 16 models and not just the Pro ones as is the case on the iPhone 15. And the second, the arrival of a new capture button with haptic technology which will allow quick access to video recording,

The iPhone 16 capture button or how to promote spatial video
Like every Sunday, Mark Gurman delighted us in his newsletter published in Bloomberg with news related to the next iPhone 16. We referred to a new capture button located on the right side of the device although until today nothing has been published regarding its function.
According to Gurman, this new capture button will be available on all iPhone 16 models and its function will be directed towards record videos. In other words, it is a shortcut for recording videos directly, without having to manually open the Camera app. Obviously the button will also allow you to capture images, but it is aimed to a greater extent at recording videos.

As some renders released to date of the iPhone 16 have shown, this capture button will be on the right side of the device. This means a change for the iPhone 16 with mmWave antenna (Un ited States) which must move the antenna to the left
One button with haptic technology
Regarding the capture button technology, it is suspected that will integrate haptic technology, that is to say it will not be a real button but rather will be the pressure and identification of the pressure exerted which will determine the function associated with the button. It is assumed, or at least what Gurman predicts, that depending on the type of pressure exerted, we will be able to access one capture mode or another: photo, video, spatial video, etc. But without a doubt, The key to everything is a focus on spatial video recording.
With the arrival of the Apple Vision Pro and the playback of spatial videos, it becomes more important to understand that new memories and new videos will have much more substance if recorded in this way. We therefore also suspect the change in position of the iPhone 16 cameras in its standard model to become compatible with spatial recording. Everything will be seen, but for the moment all the clues seem to match.
