Apple has a secret and doesn’t want to reveal it…
Apple hid a secret hardware component in its next-generation devices. The most curious thing about all of this is that during the presentation of its most recent iPad and Mac computers, Apple made no mention of this mysterious component. No one knows what it is used for or what functions it might trigger in the future.
It is possible that the Californian company led by Tim Cook was keeping it secret to present a new artificial intelligence function at WWDC 2024, which will be held on June 10. Or maybe it’s just a component that accompanies a function that’s already there.
Regardless, today it is very difficult to hide a secret inside a technological device. The most prying eyes were responsible for learn the ins and outs of the latest iPad and Mac to uncover this mystery and put Apple under control.
They discover a secret component in the new iPad Pro M4 and Mac M3 devices
From The Verge, they found proof of a new secret component in the hardware of the latest Apple devices. This hidden component was discovered in the iPad Pro with M4 chip, iPad Air with M2 chip, MacBook Pro with M3 chip, and iMac with M3 chip.
The component in question is a Radio topic and, interestingly, it was already available on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. In fact, it’s also found in the HomePod mini and HomePod 2. And what is Thread? Basically This is the Matter standard protocol
Apple has not added Thread radio to the list of technical specifications of its new devices. We tried to contact a manager to receive an explanation on this subject but Apple has not commented on the subject.
What is thread?
Thread is the main wireless protocol of the new Matter home automation standard. This is a protocol low battery and low bandwidth specifically designed for IoT devices.
It seems, Thread radio frequencies deliver faster speeds than Bluetooth connectivity and a wider scope. This is why the Thread radio that Apple has implemented could be very useful for controlling smart bulbs, thermostats, motion sensors and other home automation products.
Our bet
It is unclear what the main purpose of implementing this mysterious hardware component is in the latest generations of Apple devices. Clearly, this must be linked to something new in home automation.
Maybe Apple is planning to turn your iPad or Mac into a home automation control center and that’s where one of the most interesting latest rumors in the Apple universe comes into play…
The company is developing a smart display focused on home automation and a new device combining the functionality of a HomePod, Apple TV and FaceTime. Perhaps Thread radio is a form of intercommunication between Apple devices?
