Telegram has compiled all the new features introduced throughout the month in the form of an update that promises to boost the use of groups. Indeed, it is such that: users can energize the groups in which they participate by offering premium passes in order to make the whole evolve and obtain benefits for everyone.
Telegram is a messaging application known for innovating in its field by giving a thousand thoughts on the way we communicate and interact with the smartphone. Unlimited storage, private chats that become a user cloud, the news that, month after month, even put Meta’s WhatsApp in difficulty. Now, the changes are aimed at monetizing the messaging platform.

The messaging platform introduced paid subscribers in June 2022. At first, it offered some additional benefits to those who used Telegram for free; as double the size of files to download or speed up their downloading and loadingsome additions that compensated the payment of those who used Telegram as a private storage cloud.
Over the course of successive updates, we have seen how the new features have gradually brought some improvement to the platform, even if the succession of advantages the level has been lowered from objective utility to that of cosmetic. Telegram’s latest update demonstrates exactly this strategy.
With the aim of increasing the number of paying Telegram users, a number which, according to the founder himself, stood at 4 million in December 2023 (out of a total estimated 800 million active users, 0, 5%), the latest update gives a greater advantage to boosted groups, an option that was introduced in November 2023 with sweepstakes. Groups that receive boosts will now increase buffs based on level.
Benefits added to groups will increase depending on the level reached. To do this, members need to gift premium memberships to each other in addition to holding sweepstakes where more premium users are rewarded. Each of these payments will represent a boost. And with the update, the following benefits are offered to these groups depending on the level:
- Group stories. Stories reach group conversations so their members can comment whatever they want. And the responses will be converted into chat within the group.
- Customizing group chat. Conversations that receive enough momentum to move to the next level will be able to customize the group background, change the style of links, add a conversation cover and Emoji statuses.
- Emoji packs for groups. That the impulse level is high? Users in the group will be able to use exclusive icon packs there.
- Unlimited transcription. All members of a group with a sufficient level will be able to convert audio into text without the limit of one transcription per free user being imposed.
- Users who promoted the group will have a unique badge. That you collaborated to raise the level of the group and thus obtain advantages? Well, let it be noticed.
All new features in the latest Telegram update are purely cosmetic and aimed at increase spending on premium subscriptions. After gamifying the levels, groups gain advantages in the ranks based on the number of boosts: one story per day at level 1, 2 stories and 8 cover colors at level 2, and so on. Whether it’s revolutionizing messaging with useful additions or encouraging spending from users who want to stand out from the crowd: Telegram has become the Fortnite of messaging apps.
