Google continues to work to make its office suite as complete as possible and, within this grid of applications for working in the cloud, we can count Google Drive.
Yes, it’s basically Google’s “cloud hard drive”, but in recent years gradually widened and increase compatibility with documents to, for example, bring us directly to Docs. Go further now because the new Google Drive update allows us to edit a PDF to take notes, draw or highlight text
New Google Drive feature is slowly coming
The truth is that this function It’s quite simple, but it can be very useful in some cases. For example, this weekend, I will dedicate myself to reviewing all the menus of the restaurants I have been to recently and highlighting the dishes that I liked the most.
To do this, you just have to open Google Drive on your Android mobile and select a PDF. You won’t see anything strange, but if you tap the screen, you’ll see how a pencil icon appears at the bottom left
A toolbar will appear with highlighter, pen, eraser, undo and redo controls and an eye icon to show before and after.
To scroll the document, you must use two fingers (drag to move around the document and pinch to zoom) and I really like the underline option. And that’s it, the program recognizes the text and there is no possibility that you go out of line. It’s quite comfortable.
Now, you may not be able to access this feature yet. Google announced it a few days ago, and as seen in 9to5Google, it started rolling out with the version 2.23.081.2 of Drive for Androidbut it may not have reached all regions.
There are updates that are released in series and, for example, while from Europe I can use this new function perfectly, my colleague Iván Ramírez could not do it from Thailand. So be patient, it will come at some point.
