Early Geekbench data for the M4 Pro chip is clear, it’s one of the most powerful chips that far exceeds the performance of the M2 Ultra chip
According to the first tests to which the M4 Pro chip was subjected in Geekbench, this chip presented for the Mac mini and the MacBook Pro it’s much faster than the M2 Ultra chip in terms of processor performance regarding the maximum potential it can have in multi-core. It is not a partition very far from each other but It’s surprising that a 14-core processor outperforms the 24-core processor that the Mac Studio currently has
The M4 Pro chip is now the fastest in Apple Silicon above the M2 Ultra
Of course You should be aware that the M2 Ultra chip already has a few more years of experience and must have lostsooner or later, with a newer chip. We have no doubt that the distances will move further when it is verified that the M4 Max chip obtains a better score and better performance. As of the time this news is published, there is still no trace of this Apple chip.
These are the scores published on the Geekbench site:
- Mac mini with M4 Pro processor, score 22,094-point multi-core
- Mac Studio with M2 Ultra processor, score 21,351-point multi-core
The perspective from which these results are considered is interesting. We are talking about two distant chips but also pieces of equipment that have nothing to do with each other.. The Mac mini has been redesigned from the ground up and now features one of the most powerful chips for a much more affordable price than the Mac Studio.
The Mac mini has a price of 1,669 dollars with an M4 Pro chip with 12 CPU cores, 16 GPU cores, 24 GB of unified memory and 512 GB of storage. While the Mac Studio with M2 Ultra chip has a price of 4,848.85 dollars although it is surpassed at least with 64 GB of unified memory and 1 TB of storage.
The M4 Pro chip is faster than its predecessor
If we thought that the M4 Pro chip didn’t have much difference compared to the M3 Pro chip, we were categorically wrong. According to Geekbench figures, the M4 Pro chip is up to 45% faster
The Mac mini with M4 Pro has a multi-core score of 22,094 while the The M3 Pro chip in a 14-inch MacBook Pro scores 15,282 points. THE the difference in terms of CPU is 2 cores this could represent differences in the processing of certain daily and demanding tasks.
Is amazing how Apple managed to improve regarding their new chips. This is perhaps why those from Cupertino did not want to launch a new generation of Ultra chip so soon in the M3 range and we could see it in this current generation of M4. Users can now access a more powerful chip by investing less money (less than 2000 dollars) than in a team which exceeds 4000 dollars.
