In an age where fewer and fewer mobile phones include a headphone port, this company thought it was a good idea include not one but two headphone ports. This is Moondrop, a Chinese company specializing in audio products which has just presented its first smartphone.
The Moondrop MIAD 01 has everything that makes a smartphone a smartphone: a large screen, a dual main camera system and much more. But what makes this mobile different is that it includes some dedicated audio featuresincluding two different types of headphone ports and expandable storage capacity.
A smartphone that audiophiles want to fall in love with
The Moondrop MIAD 01, in addition to having a name that does not sound very good for the Spanish-speaking public, has a 6.7-inch OLED screen with Full HD resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Its processor is a Mediatek Dimensity 7050 eight. -core, which is accompanied by 12 GB of RAM.
And all this is good for a mobile phone which, in the traditional market, would aim at the mid-range, but what makes the MIAD 01 interesting are its audio capabilities: it has two headphone ports, a 3.5mm and a 4.4mm. 3.5mm is the traditional one we all know, but 4.4mm is more specific to high fidelity audio, as it is based on a balanced connection, which offers a better quality (and cleaner) signal .
The 4.4mm port is well known among the gaming community. high quality audio or Hi-Fi, because more demanding headphones (with higher impedance and/or lower sensitivity) are usually connected via this port. The inclusion of support for a 4.4mm connection is something that attracts a lot of attention to this mobile.
The MIAD 01 has many similarities with what a DAP would be, i.e. a digital audio player (a modern iPod or Walkman), which currently generally rely on the Android operating system, but do not have connection to mobile networks. . The MIAD 01, for its part, promises to be a mobile phone with DAP capabilities
Another feature that audio fans will appreciate is that the mobile has an internal storage capacity of 256 GB, but this can be expanded via microSD cards, with support for up to an additional 2TB.
For the rest, the Moondrop mobile has a dual camera system on the back, including two 64 MP sensors (not yet specified) and a 32 MP front camera. Finally, it includes a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 33W charging. In a traditional mobile phone a capacity of 5,000 mAh is standard today, but in a mobile phone with these audio capabilities I have doubts about the autonomy it could offer if we use it for gaming for many hours with demanding headphones via the. 4.4mm balanced connection.
Moondrop is yet to announce the release date or price of its first smartphone, the MIAD 01, but we can expect it to launch in China, albeit with shipping available worldwide. This is something the company does with all of its audio products, including headphones and USB adapters.
