The wait for new iPad models is coming to an end with the launch of the new iPad Pro and iPad Air in the week of May 6 according to Mark Gurman in his latest newsletter.
It looks like there’s only a month left until we get new iPad models. Concretely, if the rumors are correct, we will have two new iPad Pro models and two new iPad Air models. Will have two new iPad Pro models with two screen sizes, one 11 and the other 13 inches, and both screens will be OLED
The most important change will concern the iPad Pro, not only due to the different type of screen, moving from the current miniLED to OLED with higher contrast and brightness thanks to this technology, but also due to ‘a new slimmer design and the transfer of the FaceTime camera to the long side of the iPad, for use in landscape mode. It will also include the powerful M3 chip. All this will have a price, and everything indicates that The increase compared to current models will be significant
This price increase is probably what led to the decision to launch two iPad Air models with screen sizes equivalent to the iPad Pro. Two similar models, with slightly less powerful but still very efficient processors (presumably M2) and whose price will be much lower than that of the Pro models. What will the Pro models be able to do that the new Air models can’t? Well, that remains to be seen, but I bet the big difference will be in the quality of the screen and nothing else.
There is also expected to be a new Apple Pencil model that will have a new recognizable gesture: squeezing it. And if that wasn’t enough, we could have a new aluminum Magic Keyboard that transforms the iPad Pro into a real MacBook, at least aesthetically, with a trackpad larger than the current one. As for the other iPad models, they are not expected until after the summer.
