Did you think that the iPhone 15 rumors were already very advanced for the dates in which we find ourselves? Well, watch out, because we can already start talking about the iPhone 16. Yes, the iPhone that we should see launched in September 2024.
And no one better to start talking about it than Ross Young and his good inside sources in the display manufacturing industry. According to the leaker, that the iPhone 16 will be the first to have Face ID under the screen
Notch to Dynamic Island then… Dynamic Circle?
It would be a crucial step in the evolution of what began as the notch on the iPhone X, the notch smaller in iPhone 13 and Dynamic Island in iPhone 14 Pro. The iPhone 2024 would have TrueDepth sensors under the screen, being able to work under its pixels without problem.
We would not speak of a screen without a hole: Young clarifies that the front camera would still need to have its own “hole” in the screen. But it would be much more discreet (perhaps a simple circle), and so we could still have the great user experience created with Dynamic Island.
The goal of an iPhone with a full screen and without holes or gaps in its pixels would be achieved in the more distant future, when Apple manages to maintain the quality of its camera by placing it under the screen. It can be in 2025, 2026 or beyond: in Cupertino they prefer to arrive late and well than soon and with failures. They don’t always succeed, of course, but there is the intention.
