It’s official. Xiaomi has confirmed that next week we will have new mid-range phones from its second brand, POCO. They will do this in an online presentation in which it should be announced the launch in Europe POCO X5 and POCO X5 Pro, which have not yet been announced in any territory.
They arouse particular interest if one takes into account the fact that they will be two different versions, failing to know what disparate elements they have. And it is striking if we observe that the previous one is the POCO X4 Pro, of which we did not have a standard version, although we had a ‘GT’ with the POCO X4 GT.
The new POCO will be official next Monday at noon
As announced by the manufacturer, it will be the next Monday, February 6 from 1:00 p.m. (time of the Spanish peninsula) when a special event begins in which they will present the POCO X5 5G and POCO X5 Pro 5G. They do not confirm if there will be other devices on stage such as smartwatches, smart bracelets or headphones, but it would not be ruled out.
The thing is, a good chunk of the specs have already leaked. At least the “Pro” model, which would have a very similar design to other recent POCOs like the POCO M5 and POCO M5. They say he will have a 6.67 inch OLED panel
Inside we would find a Qualcomm series 7 chip like the Snapdragon 778G, which, despite being a processor from almost two years ago, is still one of the most powerful in the mid-range. And more compared to the Snapdragon 695 5G which mounts the X4 Pro, it would be accompanied by options of 6 and 8 GB of RAM with versions up to 256 GB of internal storage.
In terms of photography, and without forgetting that we are talking about the mid-range, the ‘Pro’ model is intended to be very successful, again betting on a 108 + 8 + 2 megapixel triple camera (respectively main, wide angle and macro). Of course, on paper and if not official, they seem identical to those that the X4 Pro has already assembled.
This also seems to be an open secret 5000mAh battery, although it is not entirely clear if the “Pro” model will have a maximum power of 67W or if it will adopt a higher charging speed. These doubts, as well as the specific specifications of the standard model, will be resolved next Monday. The countdown has already started.
