Almost all of us use WhatsApp on a daily basis, and criminals know it. They demonstrate this with the dozens of deceptive messages and calls circulating through this service and others that seek to trick someone into stealing personal data and/or money.
Considering this, WhatsApp recently released a new option: be able to silence calls from contacts who are not in our agenda. A useful measure for those who want to be sure not to take any risks. Let’s see how to activate it.
If I don’t know who you are, don’t interrupt me
Blocking or unblocking calls from unknown contacts on WhatsApp is easy. All you have to do is open the app, enter its settings and go to the ‘Privacy’ section:
In this section, you will have a section called “Calls”. Press it to enter:
You will see an option called ‘Stop calls from unknown numbers‘. If you enable it, you will do exactly that:
Please note that this option does not block calls: it simply cuts them off. You will be able to see the number of the person who called you in the recent and missed calls list.
You may not see the “Calls” option in the “Privacy” section as shown in the screenshots. If this is your case, don’t worry: WhatsApp still broadcasts this option to all users and it probably hasn’t arrived on your iPhone yet. A little patience, sooner or later it will come to you and then you can activate this little “security” against strangers.
