Less remains for one of the most important launches of the year in the Android sector. The first Nothing mobile which will target the lower mid-range, the first which will not be aimed at enthusiasts capable of spending at least 400 dollars for one of their mobiles; The Nothing Phone (2a) will be presented on March 5, but we already know a lot about this device.
As usual, there have been numerous leaks of this new mobile phone, but what is not so normal is that it is the company itself that “leaks” the functionalities and design of its new product before its launch. This is something some companies do (including OnePlus), and now Nothing has stopped doing it.
Since the official announcement, Nothing has confirmed that the Phone (2a) will be the world’s first mobile phone to carry MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 Pro processor; This was originally rumored to be the base Dimensity 7200, but Carl Pei has now confirmed that it will be the Pro version.
There was no initial boast that this exclusive version of the processor would offer “smooth performance and exceptional power efficiency”, and that it had been developed in collaboration with MediaTek. Shortly after, he confirmed that it would be a quantum leap from the Nothing Phone (1), being 18% more powerful and 16% more efficientso this can be very tempting for users looking to upgrade to a new mobile.
In this way, Nothing can boast of having a “custom” and unique processor, in a range in which manufacturers normally reuse chips and components ad nauseam in search of better profit margins. It’s very rare for a mobile like this to release a chip, but that’s exactly what Nothing will do.
And that’s not all. The design of the Nothing Phone (2a) has been completely leaked, thanks to Smartprix and OnLeaks obtaining the company’s official press images and releasing them in advance. And it is confirmed that this mobile will be a Nothing in all respects, including one aspect that will attract a lot of attention.
Far from just being a classic mobile phone emblazoned with the Nothing logo, the company has created a special design on the back which clearly differentiates it, both from cell phones of other brands and from the rest of the company’s models. We can see the set of cameras which seem to form “eyes” on a face, as if it were a robot; The brand’s trademark Glyph Lights taillights are also visible, although it doesn’t look like there will be as many as on the Nothing Phone (2). Carl Pei and the company’s designers made it clear that they didn’t want to lose the lights on this model, but at the same time they had to figure out where to place them to fit the design, which is very different from the rest of the models.
According to the leak, the Nothing Phone (2a) will have a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL S5KG9 main camera, accompanied by an ISOCELL JN1 wide-angle camera, also 50MP. It will have 12GB of RAM, a 5,000mAh battery, and 45W fast charging, all with Android 14 as standard.
The price in India has also been disclosed, 25,000 rupees, or around 278 dollars; The normal Nothing Phone (2) costs 36,999 rupees, or 412 dollars, so we can get an idea of how much it might cost in Europe, where the Nothing Phone (2) costs 649 dollars.
