WhatsApp may soon launch a new video messaging feature.
Mid-April, a new software update of WhatsApp revealed the possible arrival of a function that will completely change the way you chat in the instant messaging application acquired by Meta. Now, this feature could arrive on iOS and Android since its presence has been detected in the beta version of both operating systems.
We talk about the role of video-messages from whatsapp. A novelty that will allow users to send short video messages of 60 seconds duration via recording for the time being.
WhatsApp video messages will be launched very soon
In a very short time – maybe a few weeks or maybe a month – you’ll be able to send your friends and family circular video clips to show them what you’re doing at that exact moment. This is a new function that WhatsApp has integrated after the growing popularity of social networks such as BeReal, whose main principle is capture the reality of the moment no false takes.
Recording of video messages is performed the moment a user presses the button with the camera icon that replaces the microphone button. Being an instantaneous recording, the receiver experiences a sensation of immediacy which is not comparable to the reception of a previously recorded video.
This kind of whatsapp video clips they will not be able to be saved directly to the camera roll from iOS and Android devices. But it is possible to make a screen recording, since it is not a function that has not been integrated –for the moment– among the multimedia contents of a single WhatsApp view.
Finally, it should be mentioned that WhatsApp video messages will be end-to-end encrypted, making it impossible for anyone to access it, not even WhatsApp. A security measure that, by the way, the Spanish government wishes to prohibit by the legislation of the country.
Shooting video clips of up to 60 seconds will provide new means of communication and will radically change the way we chat on WhatsApp. From WABetaInfo they report that WhatsApp video messages are available in the beta version of iOS 23.6.0.73 and of Android 2.23.8.19. If you have updated to a beta version, you only have to press the microphone button with a touch, if it turns into a camera icon, you can already try the new video messaging function.
