What was given is finished. As expected, Google has disabled the VPN included in its Google One subscription. Google One VPN is no longer available and, if you want a VPN and don’t have a Google Pixel 7 or Pixel 8, you’ll have to use another one.
The Google One VPN thus joins the Google graveyard. It was launched as a Google One feature exclusive to Pixels which later reached all subscribers. Now it disappearseven if it remains – under another name – for those who have the latest Google Pixel.
From all-in-one subscription to one-thing subscription
Google One is the name given to the Google subscription whose main advantage is additional storage space for your account
Thus came additional advantages such as Google Photos filters or VPN, which were accompanied by the possibility of contact Google technical support or monitor the dark web to see if our personal data has been leaked. It seemed that little by little Google would add more things to Google One and yet it removes them.
The VPN is already gone and Dark Web monitoring will disappear next month. The good news is that this will no longer be an exclusive feature of Google One and will be available to all users with a Google account, in the Results for you. This will happen at the end of July. Previously, the “Talk to a Google Expert” benefit disappeared.
As a result, what could have become an all-in-one Google subscription became a subscription for just one thing: storage. Everything else is available to more users or remains exclusive for those with a home phone.
