Meta’s position towards Apple is clear and its leader does not hesitate to share it!
In a recent interview for the podcast “Acquired”, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg returned to one of his favorite topics: the rivalry between Meta and Apple. Zuckerberg presented a contrasting view of the two companies’ strategies, highlighting what he sees as the strengths of the empire he leads and the advantages of one of his main competitors.
Mark Zuckerberg doesn’t like anything about Apple
On the one hand, Zuckerberg defended Meta’s philosophy of launching products faster and receiving real-time user feedback.
You really want to have a culture that values shipping, delivering products, and receiving feedback rather than always having to receive positive praise from people when you deliver products.
While Speak ing of Apple, he made it clear that he disagreed with the company’s cycles before launching a product.
(Apple) They take an approach that says, “We’re going to take a long time, we’re going to polish it, and we’re going to release it.” And maybe what they’re doing that works fits their culture.
Furthermore, spoke out against Apple’s App Store policiesarguing that these limit competition and harm developers. He also discussed Apple’s dominance in the iPhone ecosystem and expressed concerns about the company’s privacy practices. Although one could say that this last point is reciprocal.
For several years now, Zuckerberg has become one of Apple’s leading critics. In contrast, there were very few occasions where a verbal response was generated, but in a different way.
A few months ago, Bitten Apple officials have insisted on quelling rumors suggesting that Apple is considering a proposal to integrate Meta’s AI chatbot with iOSclaiming their disagreement with Meta’s privacy policies. Because that’s a risk they can’t take after ensuring they have the world’s most private AI.
For his part, Mark does not hesitate to attack each Apple release. This year, he devoted several interviews to affirming that the Meta Quest 3 is better than the Apple Vision Pro. For the executive, the Apple device is too expensive and isolates its users too much from the world.
Given that the two companies are competing on different fronts, from mobile operating systems to virtual reality glasses, It’s to be expected that there will be a reaction to the other’s actions, but it’s clear that Zuckerberg is taking this very personally.
