YouTube, which has just launched a new design on Android, has very quickly become an online video giant and part of its success lies in the possibility of finding music videos from many of the most sought-after artists and musicians. This pitted Google against some of the major music distributors, who didn’t want just anyone posting their video on the web.
To solve this problem, it was created VEVO, a YouTube-integrated platform operated by Google, Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Abu Dhabi Media Company and Arthur Music Company.
In this way, they satisfied the users who were looking for the videos but controlled the economic benefit generated by them.
VEVO is coming to Android TV
It took 13 years since its creation for this service to launch a native application on Android TV (and Google TV), when it was already present on connected devices from Roku or Amazon, for example. On Android phones, it took a while.
This application offers an interface designed to watch music videos almost in a linked way, which makes it unnecessary to search for each one in the interface of the application, as happens for example on YouTube.
We will of course be able to carry out searches within the application and new videos will also be offered to us as we see the ones that interest us the most.
We’ll not only have the music videos, but Vevo member-created content about singers, interviews, and more.

The Android TV app is now available on the Play Store in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Europe, Germany, Mexico and Brazil.
