“Wordle” can be played on the Internet, but hackers have already started releasing their own “versions” for the App Store.
Wordle has become the new favorite game on the Internet. If you’ve been following the news, you’ve probably come across this interesting name somewhere on Twitter. Best of all is that Wordle is quite accessible and you don’t need anything special to be able to play it, just a browser, an internet connection and the desire to have a good time. But as is often the case with anything popular, clones quickly started popping up everywhere, and Apple got to work eliminating them.
Until, Wordle has not released any app on app store or any other mobile app store. Josh Wardle, creator of the game, created it to be free and run on the internet so anyone can access and play it. However, in recent days, the Apple App Store and Google Play Store have been filled with “pirateof the game, blatantly copying the ideas on display in Wardle’s game.
Some of these pirate versions even have the audacity to load up to thirty dollars to access a “Pro” version, taking the game to a mechanic that isn’t even its own, and it’s unclear when the fever will end.
Apple has already begun to take action against copies
Although at first it looked like Apple was going to sit idly by, a new MacRumors report on its official Twitter account assures us that Apple has already gotten to work remove copies of Wordle, and some of them have already disappeared from the App Store. So you can keep calm and if you happen to see one, avoid downloading it. If you want to play Wordle, all you have to do is go to its official website and play a few games from Safari or any browser you use on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
