Unique, exclusive and even with letters written for each contact: the possibilities are almost unlimited.
Since my colleague Javier Lacort analyzed the potential of Suno.ai in writing songs, I have been creating my own from my phone with results that often leave me speechless. Because a small description is enough to obtain a melody from scratch, by limiting the style the composition changes radically and I even created dozens of songs with my own lyrics, something I always dreamed of and which my lack of musical talent prevented me from doing. I discovered a new world that I had barely explored, the parodies were just the beginning.

I have to say that for my taste, the cell phone is much better in silence, although I admit that it is funny to hear a melody every time someone calls or a message rings. When I go out I make sure all devices are silent, but when I walk around the house, things change. Creating a song for a specific person and assigning it to them in their phone’s address book is useful.
Yes, Suno.ai creates songs, although it usually requires an extra step before placing the result as a ringtone: you need to edit the Mp3 in select the most important section of the song. It is a process that can also be done from your mobile, you only need an application for this.
Generative AI tool lets you create songs for free, at least as long as use of the website is not interrupted
- Go to the Generative Music AI website. You must create an account: click on “Make a song“.
- Depending on the usage charge, you may be able to use Suno.ai for free or you may have to wait. It is not essential to pay to create songs, since you have 50 credits every day; which gives you around ten songs per day.
- Once you have an account and access to the tool, click on the bottom “Create” tab.
- Describe the song you want to create in the description field. You don’t have to do this in English, although it usually works better if you use that language. For example
“a pop song with a female solo vocal that could win the Eurovision Song Contest and with lyrics about April having a thousand rains.”
- If you don’t want lyrics, make sure to check the “Instrumental” selector.
- What do you want from a letter written by you? Click on “Switch to custom mode» and Suno.ai will allow you to write the “Lyrics” and select the musical style of the creation. This is great if you want to create a topic for someone else. Or create a parody, the results are spectacular.
Suno.ai’s mobile interface isn’t perfect, but it doesn’t come with complications
- Suno.ai will make you two samples, each lasting up to two minutes. If you like one, click on the three dots and select “Download Audio”. My advice is to share the link with an app like Telegram for later save Mp3 to phone memory: from the browser, this does not allow you to do it directly.
- When you already have the file on your mobile, you need to cut the exact song that you are going to use as a ringtone. For the task, I used Audio Editor, a simple tool that was more than up to the task.
- Open the app, accept storage access to load tracks, and select the file you created with Suno.ai.
- Drag the ends of the vertical bars until you select only the song loop you need. Once finished, click the “Save” button at the top. Select the default export settings and your ringtone will be saved to your mobile.

When you have created your own ringtone, simply choose it as the phone’s default melody in the sound settings. And you can create a song for each contact, this way you will distinguish them as soon as the first notes start to sound. everything with unique songs you won’t hear anywhere else.
With a little imagination and patience, the results are incredible.

With the above you have more than enough foundation to start with, the rest is just experimentation. Create funny and humorous lyrics to laugh with your friends, define as much as possible what you need in the song so that Suno.ai creates exactly what you are looking for, you can try to adapt your lyrics to different musical styles (flamenco or breakbeat they generally give good results) and above all, AI is a window open to creativity. Who knows, maybe you’ll discover that your true passion was creating songs.
