Today’s mobile operating systems are very complex and must analyze and balance hundreds of data and systems to ensure the best possible user experience. This implies being able to develop great power so that games are enjoyed, but at the same time, for example, knowing how to control energy expenditure so that consumption does not skyrocket and the cell phone has to be recharged several times a day.
One of the functions integrated by many models is a system of background app control which means some of them don’t work well at all. This is implemented so that these applications do not waste battery even when not in use, but with the risk that some functions stop working.
A good example is apps that run in the background to upload photos. For example, if we want Onedrive to make a copy of the images we take even without entering the application, we will have to configure the device so that it does not cut off the download when it detects that the application is not not open.
Checking the battery
This does not only happen on mobile phones of a specific brand. In fact, this is a very common complaint about Chinese mobile phones in recent years. Companies like Huawei or Xiaomi have been particularly aggressive in the past with this feature
To change the behavior of these applications we need to do open it and, immediately afterwards, enter the multitasking, with the swipe gesture or by clicking on the corresponding button. Once there we must click on the icon of the application that interests us and then click on Application information.
Application battery management on Android
Free Android
This opens the section Settings of the application, where we have to look for the section Battery. When we enter you will see that there are three options. By default comes the second, Optimized, which in theory is the one that works best. However, in some applications it is necessary to choose Not limited, the first of them, which is the one that least interferes with the operation of the application in the background. Of course, it is the one that consumes the most battery. On the contrary, if an application spends a lot and is not used in the background, we can use the Restricted option so that it only uses the elements of the mobile hardware when we have it open.
