Most iPhone bugs are common to users all over the world, some of whom share a specific issue in forums and other media. However, this time, one of them hit only one geographic area. IPhone users in the Azores cannot use the alarm function for more than one month.
What perhaps appeared to be a m inor error affected users in the Azores Islands who were unable to use the alarm function built into iOS. According to the shared 9to5mac post, there appears to be a generalized error that prevents the operation and usually crashes the application.
IPhone alarm has stopped working in the Azores
Affected users claim that the Clock app crashes instantly when trying to set an alarm, if iPhone is set to local time zone. The same goes for the Reminders app in some cases.. Apple has yet to comment on the issue or resolve it. Only one temporary solution is known for this issue, reported by a user on the Apple Support site.
To solve this problem, Apple recommends going to the menu Settings> General> Date and time, uncheck the “Set automatically” option, then set the time zone to “Praia, Cape Verde” (same as Azores). And so far, this is the far from ideal solution followed by users when activating this undoubtedly useful function.
While waiting for a definitive solution, users devoted themselves to sharing the validity of the bug in social networks, no answer on this subject. While waiting for the official release of iOS 14.6 to the public in the coming days, There is no mention of this issue in the release notes.
