Two phones in companion mode on WhatsApp
The companion mode beta is rolling out to Android. We are really facing a extension of the “Linked devices” function so that we have the possibility of using the same account on different mobiles.
It’s in the beta version of WhatsApp v2.23.8.2 where companion mode is available so that anyone with access to it can start linking two same mobiles.
All the while, WhatsApp has optimized this new chat app experience so that it arrives today and with near availability in the coming weeks through the stable version of the app.
It’s not that we have an exact date, but when WhatsApp makes something new available to all beta channel users, it doesn’t take long for it to arrive.
But what is companion mode?
The linked devices mode allows us to use the WhatsApp account on a PC, laptop or tablet. This is where its limit comes and this is where the companion mode appears to expand its functionality and therefore give more flexibility to the user with the phones he might have owned.
The main virtue of companion mode is that it allows use the same account WhatsApp on two different mobiles, something impossible so far. In this way we can synchronize all the chats and groups on the smartphones that we have linked.
In fact, we will use the linked devices menu so that through a QR code we can have both phones with all the cats. Of course, at the moment you need to have the beta version of WhatsApp at 2.23.8.2 to be able to pair the phone.
For now there are certain limits When we are in the beta version, since the second mobile can only be one with Android since this version is not in WhatsApp for iOS.
There are two other limitations on mailing lists and the ability to post a status update from the second paired smartphone. Either way, as it is right now, you can enjoy the new experience, and as long as you’re in the WhatsApp beta channel.
